The new two-story, 98,000 SF Newport Beach Civic Center and Park includes a new community room with seating capacity of over 200 people, a 450 car capacity tri-level parking structure, and a civic green gathering area for special events. In addition, there will be a two-story, 17,000 SF addition to the existing library at the south end of the site that will serve as a connection with the civic green. The project also includes a 6,000 SF City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that will be partially underground below the seating area of the civic green. At the north end of the site, there will be a park area consisting of trails, bridges and viewing points in and about the wetlands, there will be a community dog park and look out area with harbor and ocean views. A pedestrian bridge equipped with handicap accessible elevator will connect the north parcel with the south over San Miguel Drive and welcome visitors to Fashion Island.
